Service
and submission are some of the unpopular but sure ways to being a celebrity and
attaining great heights in life. A faithful servant will eventually turn a
master. Service is a necessary due to be paid when one wants to board a flight
to the skies of greatness. One will never sit to be served if he never bent to
serve. Service at some points looks like a downward route to apex end. Service
is key to prominence. David is a good example of service and celebrity. David
served as a shepherd, served his people in a war, served his king as an
instrumentalist, served his prince as an amour bearer, but finally served his
nation as a king. David served his way from the wilderness to the throne,
served his way from obscurity to popularity, served his way from mediocrity to
celebrity. Service paves way where talent can’t trail. Talent and expertise may
not be recognized, but service must be rewarded initially or eventually.
Submission is synonymous with service,
as both are vital for one’s flight in life. True celebrity must have a slice of
humanity. It is in the place of submission that one recognizes and embraces the
principles of mentorship and fatherhood. “Fathers”, they say, “are feathers”.
And “when you stand on the shoulders of a father, you stand taller, see farther
and soar higher”. There are necessary elements for your growth that are outside
your reach but within the confines of a father. It is a principle of life that
anyone that rebels against or neglects the place of higher authorities and
principalities will never turn a celebrity. 1Pete 5:5 States “Likewise, ye
younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject to one
another, and be closed in humanity: FOR GOD RESISTETH THE PROUD, AND GIVETH
GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
No matter how big one’s life is, or
massive one’s destiny is or bright one’s future is, if there’s no recognition
of service and submission; then great heights will be just illusion, dreams
will experience termination and all we can have will be unbirthed visions.
Service and submission will uncan the greatness inside you in the place of
mentorship and discipleship; of which you couldn’t have done alone on your own
because there are something God will never teach you directly or personally
when he has taught someone else – Your mentor. So don’t be surprised that Moses
needed a Jethro; Joshua, a Moses; Samuel, an Eli; David, a Samuel and a Nathan;
Elisha, an Elijah; Mary, and Elizabeth; and Jesus, a John the Baptist. The
higher you want to go, the lower you’ve got to bend because most times the one
you’re following and serving will be lower than you eventually; (Aren’t you
taller than your papa now? Remember he used to be three to four times your
height). What you want to have, you’ve got to serve.
To have a profitable service, don’t
focus on the profit while serving focus on the purpose of service. True
submission is not just what we display to the authorities and superiors, it
also majority entails on how we relate to our mates and how we treat our
subjects. True humility doesn’t count at your gentility and calmness at the
foot of the ladder, but at maintaining same virtue when you’re on top of the
ladder. Service and submission is irrespective of status and position.
